Happy World Read Aloud Day! Today first graders celebrated this reading holiday by meeting authors and illustrators and reading their books. They learned how to draw David from the “No David!” series and the Big Cheese. Ask your Cubs what their favorite part was and continue the celebration tonight by sharing your favorite book. Happy Reading!

LEVEL UP STAFF
Congratulations to our staff leveling up!
It was wonderful to recognize some of our amazing staff! A special shout-out goes to Mr. Kent, our dedicated special education paraprofessional. He provides invaluable support to our kindergarten and third-grade students, patiently assisting them with accommodations like reading math problems and tests. His dedication makes a real difference! We also celebrated Ms. Geni, a paraprofessional in our ECSC classroom. She lovingly guides our littlest cubs as they learn the ropes of school. And let's not forget Ms. Currier, our passionate kindergarten teacher! She not only pours her heart into her students but also goes above and beyond by helping the entire kindergarten team plan engaging lessons and activities. We truly love our teachers – they are all awesome!

The Bear Creek PTA's event with the Mavs program focused on teaching important life lessons about teamwork, discipline, and making good choices. The program drew parallels between sports and school, emphasizing key principles:
- **Importance of Showing Up**: Demonstrating commitment by being present at practice and school
- **Listening to Leadership**: Paying attention to coaches and teachers
- **Teamwork Skills**: Practicing collaborative activities like basket shooting to illustrate how working together helps accomplish challenging tasks
The presentation highlighted that **teamwork and communication** are crucial skills that extend beyond sports, helping students develop leadership and social abilities. By using sports as a metaphor, the Mavs program effectively engaged students in learning about personal growth and collective achievement.
We are so thankful to the PTA for bringing these awesome programs to The Creek.

Ms. Brosi contributed to the Lunar New Year celebrations at Bear Creek by creating several displays throughout the building. She utilized the school’s 3D printer to produce BCE color snakes in blue and yellow. In library lessons, the Cubs engaged in activities centered around “lucky words.” We hope that all families celebrating Lunar New Year enjoyed their festivities this week.
