Grapevine Middle School students recently showcased their leadership, compassion, and dedication to community during the first annual GMS Serve Day—a powerful, hands-on event that brought the school’s mission of “creating world changers and leaders” to life. With the theme Ponies Serving Others, students participated in a wide variety of service projects both on campus and throughout the Grapevine community.
From packing food and essentials for GRACE Outreach to crafting cards for Mother’s Day, organizing the theatre closet, writing notes of encouragement to classmates, and even scraping gum from desks, students worked joyfully and purposefully. They also partnered with Keep Grapevine Beautiful to clean up a local playground and picnic area, learning about microtrash and the impact of environmental stewardship. Their actions showed that no task is too small when done with heart.
One of the highlights of the day was the continued development of the new Pony Pavilion, an outdoor learning space created in partnership with students, the PTA, teachers, and community members—including Keep Grapevine Beautiful and the Grateful Dads Club. The pavilion now features a small outdoor classroom, a garden bed, and a student-created rock garden—offering a beautiful space for reflection, learning, and connection with nature.
Thanks to the dedication of our PTA volunteers and local supporters, Serve Day and the Pony Pavilion are lasting examples of what our GMS community can accomplish together. The day was filled with purpose, pride, and teamwork—an unforgettable reminder of the power of students serving others.
