GMS is now offering 3 options for finding eBooks and Audiobooks!
Students can read on their computer or their phone, plus, Overdrive has a free app called SORA. Just search for the Overdrive SORA app in your app store. All these ebook options require a login, but this process is made simple by first accessing Classlink. Watch the video or follow the instructions below to enjoy listening and reading!
Step by step instructions
1. Click on the Classlink icon, or go to classlink.gcisd.net and log in using the student's regular district credentials.
2. Open the green Learning Commons Resources folder. Inside, go to Destiny Discover.
3. Search for ebooks in Discover, then open the book to read. It will either open immediately, or take you to MackinVia. If you need to log in again, it is your regular school login.
4. The Overdrive app has its own icon in Classlink. You can read in Overdrive or download the SORA app for reading on your phone.
These services are available 24/7/365, so feel free to check out digital and audiobooks wherever you have internet access!
